• Once … and now a paradise

    MANOR

THE YEAR 1744 IS ENGRAVED ABOVE THE ENTRANCE DOOR TO THE ROMEO FLAT. PROBABLY YEARS BEFORE, A FIRE DESTROYED THE MAS NOUVEL – IT WAS REBUILT. NOW, ALMOST THREE CENTURIES LATER, THE FORMER MANOR PRESENTS ITSELF AS AN UNFORGETTABLE HOLIDAY PARADISE.

The first centuries. Farmers and the middle class made up the majority of the population. The farming community was enormously important as a source of food. Only a few farmers were also landowners - they received the land from feudal lords and had to commit themselves to loyalty and work.

The 16th century. Mas Nouvel, whose roots date back to the 13th century, was probably used as a Monastery and later as a farm.

Around 1741, a fire destroyed the former residential building. In 1744, the main house was completely rebuilt and presumably considerably extended.

1819. Engraved above the archway to the inner courtyard, this date testifies to a renovation or a further extension.

2004. Start of renovation and transformation into a holiday paradise. From initially just one holiday flat, the former living and working spaces have gradually been transformed into more charming apartments for holiday guests.
